Is Therapy is Right for Me? Going to see a counsellor can be confusing, there are unlimited options and treatments out there and it can be difficult to decide what is right for you. Below is a brief outline of our approaches to therapy. This hopefully this will be useful for you to make a decision on therapy.

——Person-Centred Therapy ——

The Person-Centred Approach believes everyone is “potentially a competent individual” who can benefit from this form of therapy. The approach enables you to understand yourself better and have a clearer picture of your own unique self concept. By understanding ourselves better we can see where we sometimes have misunderstood ourselves or not been fully congruent in our life to the extent that it could lead to anxiety and other difficulties.


——Photo-therapy——
Phototherapy is a great approach for bringing self-awareness and healing through connection with your subconscious. This is a great introspective approach for all individuals. The approach can be very beneficial to those who have difficulties expressing themselves through words. Phototherapy can deepen and enhance insight, understanding, and relationships with others, in ways that words alone cannot do. Not limited to paper, phototherapy techniques can be used with any photographic imagery--including digital/electronic formats, and films.

——Emotion-Focused Therapy——

Emotion Focused Therapy was developed to help individuals resolve unpleasant emotions by working with those emotions instead of suppressing them. EFT is a therapy that assumes emotions can be a healing source and focuses on the constructive aspects of specific emotions, primarily in the present rather than the past. In one-on-one sessions, the therapist works to help the person in therapy examine personal emotions and emotional responses in order to better understand them.
