Fees can always be discussed and rates per session can be negotiated according to your situation. Any questions or requests you may have regarding payments can be answered during your initial consultation.
How many counselling sessions will be needed?
You can choose what feels right for you just now and adjust how many sessions you would like to attend along the way. A recommendation will be given at your initial consultation. A national research study found that 50% of clients made improvement within eight sessions of therapy and 75% showed improvement after 6 months. These are estimates as each person or couple is uniquely different. Assessment on the course of therapy is reviewed usually every 3 sessions. Treatment length depends on the severity of the problem and the treatment goals selected.
In the initial consultation we will discuss your current difficulties. This session is where we can get to know each other and establish a greater understanding of your needs. You are under no obligation to continue if you feel anything is just not right for you, or decide it is not the right time.
Therapy sessions last 60 minutes and are preferably held at a regular time slot each week. Weekly attendance is important for therapy to progress.
Most payments are made in the office but you may prefer to pre-pay. You can pay in advance by selecting the appropriate option along with the quantity of sessions you require. We use Paypal for online payments as it is reliable and accepted worldwide. You will receive a call confirming your payment and arrangements will be made for your first appointment. Or you may prefer to call the office. Either way you will receive confirmation within 24 hours.
Missed and cancelled sessions (unless 24-48 hours notice has been given) are payable in full.
